To start, I'm not one to write bad reviews online. HOWEVER:
We have had this table and chairs for three or four months. My 23 month old daughter sat on one of the chairs today and it broke! Basically, the two legs on one side broke off of the seat. She hit the floor scared and in tears. Shame on this company for making a cheap piece of junk. she is very petite, there is no way this should have broken It is made of pressed cardboard. It is cheap for a reason! Don't buy it! Spend an extra 20 bucks and get something made of wood. We will never buy another product from P'kolino.

I was excited to get this cute set of table/benches. It looks great and is fairly easy to put together. But I was disappointed to find that the chalkboard doesn't work -- I've tried a few different types of chalk (sidewalk chalk, Melissa and Doug dustless chalk) but nothing seems to write. It just scratches the board instead, and doesn't leave a mark. I spoke w/ the P'kolino customer service who confirmed that you are not supposed to use sidewalk chalk, but they didn't know why the other chalk didn't work. They are sending me a replacement (although it's been 2 weeks now, and still no replacement!), so we'll see if I just got a dud or whether this is a larger problem. Meanwhile, my 1.5 year old is happily drawing with crayons -- they mark up the table (not so pristine white anymore) but that's to be expected and I think adds to the charm of a kids table...
****** UPDATE ******
I spoke w/ the folks at P'kolino and they sent me a replacement chalkboard that now works. (They said the initial one I received was a manufacturing defect). The white coloring is little off from the rest of the table (off-white, instead of white) but it's not a big deal since my little guy is drawing all over the table anyway with the crayons. I upgraded the review to 4 stars.

We bought this for our daughter for her second birthday. She absolutely loves it! She loves to draw on the chalk side and has no problem removing the top to get to her supplies. My husband put it together really quickly and it looks great in our living room. The quality is outstanding and it seems like it will be really durable. Even though our little one is really tall for her age, the benches are a little low for her, but she doesn't seem to mind. She also likes to pull them up to the coffee table. She's also started flipping the top over to the white side and requesting to eat her lunch and snacks on it. I highly recommend this set! The price and quality are really impressive, plus it's super cute!
