I'm embarrassed to say that we have been in our new home for over two years now, and all our VHS tapes, DVDs, and CDs just now have a place to call home. I am always nervous about ordering large pieces online, but the cabinet was packaged very well, no damage at all. It took my husband and I probably 45-50 minutes to assemble, but we are not the handy type at all. We decided to space the shelves for DVDs and video games cases. Therefore, we have extra shelves, but I like that you can rearrange them whenever necessary. By my arrangement, we could theoretically fit 232 DVDs in the cabinet. We also have several boxed sets of TV shows on DVD, they are not blocking the ability for the door to slide. The color is darker than the other cherry furniture in our living room; there isn't much red in the coloring, but that is okay. I am going to place it on a different wall so that it is not right next to our TV stand and the color difference won't stand out too much. As far as "sturdiness" goes, it is acceptable. I'm going to have to watch my 18 months old the next couple of days to see how she is with it. We will probably go ahead and mount it to the wall once we decide for sure where is is going to go.
It took me a long time to find good storage (with doors!) for our movies and games, and we are happy with our purchase. Will update review later if needed.

Doors are well designed and do not block any media on a side when that door is slid open. Doors slide easily. Very easy to assemble. Looks good. Wide and holds lots of media. The only problem I see is with DVDs that have that stupid plastic flap on the opening side of the case. These cases are wider and the flaps don't close most of the time and they can block the door. You can still put them in these cabinets, but you have to put them on the side where the gap between the closed door and the media is the largest(2 sliding doors, one is closer to the media). You also have to put these DVDs at the end, and not towards the middle or you take the chance of having the flap move out and cause the inner door to get stuck. Unit is very sturdy.
