I am currently a college student, and I got this sling bag to mainly carry my books around campus.
Before I got this bag, I had two backpacks. One is pretty large, and I use it mainly for traveling, but it's a bit too big for me to carry around everyday. The other bag I use can carry a couple of books, but I was not designed to carry a computer. Plus, it is not water proof at all. So, I was in search for a bag (specifically a sling bag) that could hold at least two textbooks, a couple of small books, a computer, and some school supplies all at one time (and not be too big). It also needed to be designed to specifically hold a computer, be durable, be water-proof, and have a number of pockets. The Thule Crossover Slingpack accomplishes all of this.
I make good use of the pocket on the strap. I use it to hold my shades; however, I use aviator sunglasses, and the pocket can barely hold them. The glasses' frame also bend in the pocket since it is pressed against my chest when I carry it. But, since the glasses are cheap and still fit when I put them on, I don't mind that they bend.
The very front pocket is small, and I can't find much use for it other than it holding my calculator.
The main pocket has a "wallpocket" inside of it. I am not sure what it is for. I think it is suppose to be a waterproof pocket in case water finds it way inside the bag. But, I haven't found any use for it yet.
The middle pocket is good for holding pencils, notepads, and such. Nothing particularly special.
The water-bottle holder is good, what you would expect.
It holds my 13 inch laptop well.
If you are a really skinny guy like me, you generally do not use the strap real-estate that the bag offers you. With that extra real-estate, this bag makes you role it up and strap it to the sling. I wasn't fond of this at first, but I have gotten used to now.
The real thing that I do not like is that it has trouble carrying at 2 inche binder. I do not use binders much, but it would be nice that it could efficiently hold one. When I pack a binder, I generally cannot pack textbook.
Overall, I only have one real complaint with this bag. Everything else about it is pretty much great. It is exactly what I am looking for, and does everything I was hoping it to do. I also trail bike a lot, and I hear sling bags are great for biking. So, when the weather clears up, I'll be excited to see how it preforms.

To start, I was pretty anxious to receive the bag after ordering it due to its size. I both work and go to school full time, and needed something that would carry a couple notebooks, my laptop, and a textbook book or two. This stuff ...kinda fits. I have only had the bag for a week, but here are my thoughts:
I have a 15.4" Toshiba laptop which is a few years old, and was pleasantly surprised that it fits OK. It is bigger than the bag was designed for, and I doubt a larger laptop would fit at all, but it does not impede the zipper. With the laptop in the bag I can fit one textbook and two notebooks, or two textbooks, but definitely not two textbooks and two notebooks.
As others have mentioned, the strap "sunglasses" pocket is really small. My phone doesn't even come close to fitting, but an ipod touch will fit. Nothing wider or thicker than that, though. I can understand the designer's desire to keep the strap low-profile, but a bit more fabric on the flap of this pocket would have made it actually usable; as it is, anything which would cause the flap to to bulge or stretch just won't fit, since the fabric does not stretch at all and the flap is just large enough to close in the first place.
The handles are very wall placed, and really add to the bag. The strap is fine, works better without my over-sized laptop, which keep the bag from curving at the top and makes the strap feel a little off.
I have not had any issues with the seams that a couple other reviews mentioned, and the bag seems pretty damn solid.
Overall, I love the bag for what it is, but would love just a bit more space for my situation.

I really liked the functional design of this bag. The sling design leaves more room for full arm movement than a traditional two strap backpack, an big plus when considering self-defense. And the material and functional quality of the bag are excellent. The showstopper is the size; it is way too small for a serious computer geek. Even though a 15" laptop fits (barely), it is sized for a 13" or less and there is only room for a thin standard notebook or two. Also, as a frequent international traveller I need to carry mucho adapters/cables/external hard drive, etc, and after a couple of hours of trying to fit everything in every which way, I gave up and returned the bag. If you have a small laptop and carry only minimal peripheral stuff then this bag is recommended; otherwise, I recommend you pass until they make a bag that is wider at the top to easily accommodate a 15" laptop, is about 3 litres larger in space and has some expandable give when zipping it up.
